Faith, family, and community are the core principles of Floyd “Tag” Yarnell, a husband, father, and conservative businessman running for the Collier County Commission.  His dedication to individual liberties, property rights, water quality, and economic growth makes him the champion we need fighting for the future of Collier County.

Tag attended Naples Park Elementary, Pine Ridge and Golden Gate Middle Schools, and Barron Collier High School.  Growing up (and later raising his own family) in Collier County, he has witnessed first hand the changes and challenges our community has experienced.

In 1993, Tag obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. While attending college, Tag actively participated in political campaigns, helping conservatives get elected at both the local and state levels.

Tag earned his Juris Doctorate in 1999 from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. After graduation, Tag joined what would eventually become his current firm, Yarnell & Peterson, P.A., where he is the Managing Partner.

As an attorney, Tag has witnessed the importance of effective and transparent governance. His experiences in the courtroom have ignited a passion for public service, motivating him to seek a role where he can bring his legal acumen and business experience to help shape the future of Collier County.

Tag Yarnell is running to build a prosperous future for Collier County. His legal background has prepared him to fight to protect our freedom and ensure a brighter tomorrow for our county. He will strive for a thriving community where infrastructure improvements, environmental conservation, and economic growth all work together cohesively.  As a County Commissioner, he will work tirelessly to strengthen public safety, and protect our individual liberties and property rights.

Tag's commitment to public service extends beyond his legal practice.  He has been an active member of many local organizations, dedicating his time and resources to improving the lives of those in need.  Over the years, Tag has served the youth of Collier County by coaching for Optimist Club of Naples, Pop Warner Football, Collier County Lacrosse Association, and Upward Basketball. He is actively involved in the youth ministry of his church by assisting his wife in teaching bible studies.

Tag grew up right here in Collier County, and now along with his wife, E.B. Newberry Yarnell, they are raising their four sons Bailey, Zachery, Warren, and Henning in Collier County.

Tag’s Priorities

Tag Yarnell is a Constitutional Conservative who will make decisions based on his faith and reverence to America’s founding principles.

Lower Taxes

Tag believes your money belongs in your pocket, not the government’s. The lower the taxes, the more money individuals and businesses will have to spend in growing a strong and resilient economy. He understands less government spending equates to less taxes, and is ready to fight for you to keep more of your hard-earned money.

Protect Individual Liberties and Property Rights

Tag believes in the basic principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. As a Constitutional Conservative, Tag will view every decision through the lens of freedom first. He will oppose any policies that infringe upon individual liberties or impede our property rights and will fight to protect our inalienable rights and liberties.

Protecting Our Natural Resources

As Collier County grows, our natural resources become burdened. Tag will work to build a thriving community where environmental conservation and economic growth go hand in hand without jeopardizing property rights or our unique and pristine natural environment. Tag also understands the role water quality plays in our way of life and local economy. He will work closely with federal, state, and local officials to restore and protect our local waterways.

Enhance Infrastructure to Meet Our Growing Needs

Collier County is one of the most desirable places to live and visit in all of America. As our population grows, so does the strain on our core infrastructure, such as roads and utilities. Tag will prioritize upgrading and improving necessary projects  to meet the needs of our growing community.

Support Our First Responders

Tag is committed to providing our law enforcement officers, fire fighters, and paramedics the tools and resources they need and deserve to ensure Collier County is the safest place to live, work, and visit in the nation.
